This was my first session back on the beach since the new year has brought us such cold weather!  Ok, maybe not cold for you northerners, but waaaaaay to chilly for us warm blooded Floridans to be hanging beach side.  I could not have asked for a better session.  Especially since I was super nervous about this one!  Not only did they drive all the way from Jacksonville to see me, but dad also happens to be an amazing beach landscape photographer.  You have to check out his work here!  Ryan and I have chatted before on Instagram about our love of beach photography, and he finally deiced to come out to Tampa to get some pictures of him and his sweet daughter, Riley.

Driving to Redington my nerves got the best of me.  Shooting fellow photographers gives me anxiety, but also it was so gray and overcast!  I was bummed that we might not get an amazing sunset.  Well guess what? The photography gods heard me.  We arrived at the beach and the clouds started to part, giving us the craziest light rays ever!  YES!!  I swear I heard the “Hallelujah” song in my head.  Not only did we get light rays, but we also got bunches of seagulls to chase!  Now it was time to make some magic together!

Riley was a blast to work with.  Not only is she gorgeous, but she’s super silly and you can just that she looks up to her daddy so much!  I think I captured the essence of their special relationship together and I hope these two will look back on these images for years to come!  Thanks for hanging out with me you two!

And because I participated in a blog circle this month, I am going to share with you a photographer all the way from Japan!  She does Okinawa Family Portraits!  Head on over to her blog to check out how she captures families from the other side of our world!
