South Tampa Family Photographer

The C Family at Honeymoon Island

From Overcast to Bright Pink Skies in South Tampa (Such is life as a South Tampa Family Photographer..)

Oh how I love being a South Tampa family photographer at this time of the year! Ok, correction. I have a love/hate relationship with this time of the year. This session is a perfect illustration of that. I’ll start with my hate and save the best for last. (Even though my mother taught me to never “hate”, only “intensely dislike.” ) Sorry, mom! Anyway, I *intensely dislike* how unpredictable our weather is at the time of the year. Actually, it’s the weather app. Yes, it’s summer and it predictably rains every single day, which is fine. But what I want to know is will it clear up by the time our session begins? Why can’t the meteorologists figure this out? Like, ever?! I hear they’re currently taking applications over there, so if you’re a college graduate and have a firm understanding of predictable summer Florida weather than by all means… This is a challenge that plagues me every.single.summer. There are times when the weather radar shows it will clear up and I have my dear clients go through all the trouble of getting ready only to arrive to gray, rainy skies. Ugh!

In this case, the rain DID clear up, but left an overcast yucky sky in its. wake. So, we went with it. I can spruce up an overcast sky with a little Photoshop magic. Plus, this sweet family has been in front of my lens year after year and they have become a family I truly look forward to seeing year after year. And they’re moving!! Booo!! Being that this was my last possible time making photo magic for them, I was determined to make tonight work.

Now for my LOVE! As you can see through the images, the sky decided to put on a show for them and remind them that Florida will miss them! Florida said “hold my beer” and decided to show off. Check out those pink skies! It was truly magical. It truly made this session even more sentimental for us. Thank you, Tampa for never letting me down. Well, almost never letting me down. It was truly meaningful tonight.
