Carter is one year old!  Hooray!  Not only is it a special day for him, but more for mom and dad. One year ago they brought another life into this world and one year ago they became a complete family.  What better way than to celebrate family than with a family and cake smash photo session?  We met at my favorite park, yes people, Philippe in Safety Harbor and made some magic happen.  The sun that evening was so perfect and golden.  Perfect for a session!  After getting the “over the mantle” shots, we twirled, played with bubbles, and had an epic tickle fight.

We saved the cake smash portion for the end of the session because typically this is when babies get elbow deep in icing.  Well not Mr. Carter.  As soon as we sat him down, he was NOT having it.  He was a bit tired and just wanted some mama cuddles, which is exactly what he got.  I did manage to get some super cute “baby crying in front of the cake” images though.  What?! It’s his birthday and he can cry if he wants to!  Theres a song about it and everything!

I throughly enjoyed meeting you all and even though we didn’t smash a cake, we still got some amazing images for you to cherish in the years to come!  Until next time!

And because I enjoying sharing  the love and truly believe in community over competition I want to share another photographer with you all the way from Canada!  Check out this Family Lifestyle and Documentary Photographer in Edmonton, Alberta.  I love seeing how other photographers in different parts of the world choose to capture their own family sessions!
