I get this question all the time… “Do you shoot mini sessions?”  The short answer is YES!  But the somewhat longer answer is “Yes, but I will only shoot mini sessions at the beach if I have another family there to shoot either right before or after.  Why?  Well, because I happen to live almost an hour from the beach and it just doesn’t make sense for me to drive almost two hours round trip to shoot for 20 minutes.  I mean, I do enjoy my quiet time in the car to listen to inappropriate music and podcasts that are not meant for my kids ears, but let’s make it totally worth it!

I get it.  Sometimes you don’t want to devote an entire hour for a photo session.  Maybe your babe doesn’t have a long attention span, or gets extremely cranky at a certain time… (although this usually never happens during my photo sessions as they are kept stimulated) Or maybe your husband is the one holding you back from that hour and will only compromise for 20 minutes.  Husbands – you know who you are!

What can you do to get that mini session you want?  You can find another family and see if they’re interested too. That’s exactly what this family did.  They were vacationing with another family and both wanted a short and sweet photo session to document their first time at the beach.  So they arrived at the beach at the same time and each family took turns in front of my lens.  This particular night Mother Nature decided to show up for these beach newbies.  I think it’s safe to say that they will be back again to enjoy more sunsets in the future!
