I admit, I wear a lot of hats.  Mom, wife, soccer team manager, Disney enthusiast, family photographer, and now I have the honor to add “Tampa dance photographer”  to this list.  As I mentioned in my laundry list, I am a soccer mom.  Like a true soccer mom.  Like 80% of my time is spent on a soccer field with my three soccer daughters.  Dance is something that is so foreign to me.  When my girls were younger, I put them in dance.  I loved the tutus, the high buns, and watching my girlies shake their booties on stage.  Ultimately though, it didn’t stick and soccer became their true love.  So of course, now it’s mine.

Tonight, I got to live vicariously through this incredibly talented dancer.  Fun fact, I actually met this sweet family at the dance studio where my dancing daughter dreams were crushed.  🙂 Her mom reached out to me and wanted to schedule a special session for her daughter who just turned 10.  That day, it rained.  Crazy rain.  But as a Florida photographer who lives by the weather app, I didn’t pay it too much attention as our weather changes so quickly. In fact, I prefer rainy days that leave dramatic clouds and sunsets in its wake. And this time, the app was right.  Although we drive through insanely crazy rain to get to the beach, it was blue skies when we arrived.  And guess what- Mother Nature rewarded for our crazy journey with a double rainbow!  What a perfect backdrop for this dancing session!!  I’m pretty sure I actually squealed when I saw it.  For that, I’m sorry.  Haha…

Alexis, thank you for being such a trooper!  Even though we dealt with rain, wind, sand spurs, and stinky seaweed, you never lost your smile or positive attitude.  Happy birthday sweet girl.  I hope to see you again soon!
