Wind, flash storms, sand bees, oh my! Yes, folks. We encountered all of this and more at this extended family beach session on Indian Rocks Beach. Each time (especially in the summer) I have a session, I check the forecast in the morning and contact my clients letting them know what it looks like for the day.  Today was such a fluke!  The forecast said 10% chance of rain all day!  This may as well be a zero percent as far as summers in Tampa go.  So when I drove over the bridge and saw a sky full of storms off shore, I checked again.  Yep, still said 10%.  So I figured all of the storms would just stay off shore.

Well, was I wrong.  About ten minutes into our session, a crazy flash storm appeared and we all ran for the hills.  OK, no hills in Florida…but you know what I mean.  We waited it out for all of the 5 minutes it reared its ugly head and then all of a sudden it was gone.  Hooray!  And just as we walked back out on the beach to continue, one of the boys stepped on and got stung by a bee!  Seriously, we couldn’t catch a break.

But you know what I’m thankful for?  Instead of a stressed out family, they embraced the chaos and made lemons out of lemonade.  The sun started coming out again and they all just continued to enjoy one another’s company.  And we had the best time!  Just check out the cousins playing in the water.  Who cares about bees and storms?  What’s most important is that they were all together on a beautiful beach.  And I think we were able to freeze those incredible memories.  The silver lining is that they will always tell the story of that crazy photo session they did together on Indian Rocks.

W Family, you all were a blast to hang out with.  This was definitely one of the most memorable sessions I’ve shot too date.  Thanks for keeping it interesting!!
