This family was the sweetest! I know I say that a lot, but that’s because I truly get the best clients.  Story time everyone!  Now sit down on the carpet and do criss cross apple sauce while I tell you the back story here. ..

This family was on vacation for a short time at Clearwater Beach.  My husband had to leave town on the evening our session was scheduled for an emergency family situation, which left me high and dry with our kids.  I called this kind mama and explained the situation and asked if we could reschedule since it was too short of notice for me to find alternative child care.  Mom asked “Why don’t you just bring your girls?”  Hmm…I have NEVER considered this before.  Why?  Well because I want my focus to be 100% on the family in front of my lens.  If my kids are there, I will definitely have them in my periphery most of the time.  After thinking about this and prepping my girls (ok, bribing them with ice-cream in return that they would stay put and not interrupt me), we decided to all take a trip to the beach.

I have to say, it worked! With the exception of a couple of interruptions from my youngest to tell me that I was getting a phone call on my cell or to remind me how hungry she was (despite eating dinner before we arrived of course), they played in the sand while I had fun with this family.  It’s families like this who are extremely understanding and flexible that make me so grateful.  So cheers to all you working mamas out there and their friends, family, and clients who support them!  It really does take a village!
